Pride of Place Awards 2026

Wicklow Town Team is delighted that the Murrough Pump Track has been selected as a finalist in the All Ireland Pride of Place Awards 2026, representing Wicklow in the Youth Initiative category.

The Murrough Pump track is a shining example of local partnership between the Wicklow Town Team, Wicklow Municipal District and Wicklow County Council. This project shows what can be achieved when community, local expertise and the local Council come together.  

This is the largest pump track in Ireland, built to competition standards by a local enterprise Trailbreaker right here in Wicklow.

The Murrough Pump Track is a vibrant space for families, young people and pump track enthusiasts of all levels to come together, stay active and enjoy the outdoors, it forms part of the wider Murrough Master Plan which will deliver more great facilities for the community and visitors.

Judging took place on August 21st, when representatives of Wicklow Town Team, Wicklow Municipal District and Wicklow County Council officials and Councillors were proud to welcome the Pride of Place judges to Wicklow. This provided a great opportunity to showcase our town and all that Wicklow has to offer. 

Pride of Place recognises and rewards communities who are making a real difference—big or small—to enhance everyday life where they live and honours the dedication that fuels community pride. 

Winners will be announced at the Pride of Place Awards in late October.
