Wicklow Head Cliff Walk
WICKLOW Head Cliff Walk
A walk unlike anywhere else in Wicklow, this walk is an experience that leads you along the coastline and gives you the best view of the coast as well as all of the flora and fauna that lives there. It is a Special Protection Area.
The walk has some climbs and runs close to exposed cliff edges where walking in single file is required.
Archaeological sites on the walk include a rock shelter where prehistoric flints were found, the remains of a Lime Kiln (which the bay is named after), the ruins of a small church and a Holy Well.
It’s not unusual to find seals laying on the beaches or spot rare birds nesting along this walk that allows wanderers and explorers to breathe in the sea air on a trail that best exemplifies the natural beauty of Wicklow Town.
Please Keep dogs on a lead and never allow them to approach the seals.
