An integral part of the Wicklow community and possibly the busiest weekend in the town’s calendar year, The Regatta Festival is the oldest tradition in the town’s history and may be one of the oldest festivals in Ireland.
Beginning in 1878 as a raft race, the Regatta has evolved over the 100+ years it has taken place and has become one of Wicklow’s most beloved pastimes with the whole town coming out to take part in and enjoy the various events and entertainment taking place throughout the weekend.
