Best of luck Fionnuala at the olympics!
Wishing Fionnuala McCormack from Wicklow the best of luck in the Marathon at the Tokyo Olympics – the whole of Wicklow Town is behind you!
Fionnuala’s marathon Personal Best (PB), which she smashed by nearly four minutes at the 2019 Chicago Marathon, was the second fastest by an Irish woman after Catherina McKiernan. She is a two-time European Cross-Country champion (2011 and 2012) and European Indoor bronze medallist (2013). Tokyo marks her fourth Olympics. She made the steeplechase semi-finals in Beijing (2008), raced the 5000m & 10,000m (10th) in London 2012 and was 20th in the marathon at Rio in a 2:31.22 PB.
