Wicklow Town Heritage Trail Recommences Saturday 19th April 2025
The Wicklow Town Heritage Trail will recommence on Easter Saturday, 19th April 2025.
Join us at 11am each Saturday morning for a guided walk of the Wicklow Town Heritage Trail, an immersive tour of the town’s rich history from the arrival of St. Patrick in 432 AD, up to the end of the Civil War in 1923.
These walks will commence from outside the Tourist Office at Fitzwilliam Square and will take around 2 hours to complete, allowing participants to spend some time at each key location.
The tour has proven to be a popular attraction for tourists and locals with an increasing number of people who have recently moved to the town. Overall, over 500 people have taken part this year and have gained a great insight into the rich heritage and history of the town.
On each storyboard around the town, there is a QR code which enables participants to watch a video on their phone, telling them the story of each key location. The actors featured on the videos are members of the local dramatic society, who gave their services free to this project.
