The Taste of Wicklow 2019
Year after year, the Taste of Wicklow Festival becomes bigger and better –and 2019 was most certainly the biggest year yet with a whole host of sights, sounds, and tastes throughout the weekend.
The festival kicked off with an outdoor cinema screening of the award-winning The Greatest Showman, where hundreds of locals and visitors alike laid down their picnic blankets, bought their popcorn and candyfloss, and settled in to enjoy the fairy tale-like film under the night sky and in a truly unique setting.
Saturday was all about the music and thousands more people filed through the gates of the Abbey Grounds to enjoy some craic agus ceol supplied by two of Ireland’s best tribute bands (Jameire and Promises & Lies) and some of Wicklow’s very best local talent.
And of course, what would the Taste of Wicklow be if it didn’t have something for the foodies? Sunday saw a huge variety of food stalls open and throw delicious smells into the air all around The Abbey Grounds, enticing thousands of people to come and have a taste. And because it’s not advised (although very tempting) to eat everything all day, the public could take a rest and enjoy some fantastic informational talks from some of Ireland’s best chefs.
All in all, Taste of Wicklow 2019 was yet another success that created a whole host of new memories for those who attended. We’re already looking forward to next year.
