Vikings return to Wicklow Town
The Black Castle is no stranger to Viking invasions, but it wasn’t quite that sort of invasion - ‘the cast and crew of hit TV show Vikings were once again filming in Wicklow Town this week at the Black Castle and Travelahawk Beach!
Our seaside town and surrounding areas including Glendalough and Ashford have been a semi-home to the tv series on and off for many years now.
Although the original show has come to a close, the current filming taking place is for a new spin-off series picked up by Netflix, Vikings: Valhalla.
It’s great to see our beautiful town used for major blockbuster shows and movies over the years, and we hope that it will play host to many succesful productions in the future - both local and international!
