After months of hard work and determination, WicklowTown.ie was officially launched last night at a fun and informational evening hosted by The Marine House.

It takes a lot of people and a lot of time to build a website like WicklowTown.ie, which is why last night’s official launch was so special.

All the responsible parties as well as esteemed guests flocked to The Marine House last night to celebrate the monumental launch of this, Wicklow Town’s first digital hub.

Rosemary Kavanagh, from the Digital group gave a speech before leading everyone on a tour through the colossal website.

Eileen Cullen and the KWETB were the first to be thanked for hosting the event and providing all of the scrumptious refreshments.

“Wicklow Town Team felt that the County Town needed a web presence and that WicklowTown.ie would be the go- to site for those visiting and living in Wicklow Town.” announced Rosemary, “With that in mind, the Digital sub-team was created with John Slattery as chair and Denis Vickers, Joe Quinn, Matt Forkin and I making up the team.

“Wicklow Town Team successfully applied for funding under the Rural Development Programme (LEADER) through County Wicklow Partnership and the LCDC for this website along with securing Sponsorship from Burke Oil and Wicklow Town & District Chamber.”

Also thanked were the creative agency, In Good Company, who built this fantastic resource from the ground up and they will maintain the site along with regular updates to the WicklowTown Social platforms.

Following an informational walk through of the website, guests tucked into refreshments, searched the website on their phones, and chatted about what the site means for our flourishing town.
