Love Where You Live – Transition Year Workshops

Members of the Wicklow Town Team had a fantastic week delivering interactive “Love Where You Live” workshops to over 150 Transition Year students in Coláiste Chill Mhantáin and Dominican Convent Wicklow last week. This week they are looking forward to meeting the students in Educate Together.

The workshops encouraged students to take pride in Wicklow Town and explore how they can play an active role in shaping their future . Students learned about the work of the Town Team since its establishment in 2017 and how dedicated volunteers secured €1.5 million in government funding to deliver exciting projects across the town.

There was huge interest in learning how initiatives such as Wicklow Wander Walls, Murrough Pump Track, and the Heritage Trail came to life.

All participating students have now been invited to take part in an Inter-School Competition to create a Wicklow Town “Love Where You Live” TikTok — and we can’t wait to see their creativity in action!

It was truly inspiring to see such enthusiasm from the next generation of our community and to hear their ideas for future projects. Wicklow Town Team is excited to see the vision and the creativity of these students through their Tik Tok productions.
