Wicklow Town Heritage Trail Returns This Easter
The popular Wicklow Town Heritage Trail returns on Easter Saturday, April 4th, at 11am, welcoming locals and visitors to discover the rich history of Wicklow Town.
Over the past year the free guided walks have grown in popularity, attracting participants from across Ireland and overseas. Many locals have also taken the opportunity to learn more about the fascinating stories and historic sites right on their doorstep.
Starting from Fitzwilliam Square, the guided walk takes participants on a journey through the town’s past, sharing stories about notable figures such as Captain Robert Halpin, as well as landmarks including the The Black Castle and St. Patrick’s Church.
The walk lasts approximately 90 minutes and is led by knowledgeable volunteer guides who bring Wicklow’s history to life.
The guided Heritage Trail runs every Saturday at 11am from Easter Saturday until the end of September. The tour is free to attend, and a self-guided version of the trail is also available for those who wish to explore at their own pace.
Whether you are new to Wicklow or have lived here for years, the Heritage Trail offers a wonderful way to experience the stories that shaped the town.
