A Romantic Valentine’s Day in Wicklow
Love it or hate it, Valentine’s Day is on its way, and while some of you yawn and turn your attention to other, perhaps more important matters, there are a few of you who might find yourselves in the deepest of trouble if you so much as forget a card. If you fall into the latter category, then you’ll need to stay on your toes for the next two weeks and be sure to plan well ahead in advance in order to create the conditions for a romantic, and thoroughly safe, Valentine’s Day celebration.
It’s lucky you have us to help you out. You’re so welcome.
You’re also terribly lucky to live in a town as truly romantic as Wicklow Town. What? You don’t believe us?
Just look at how Wicklow blushes under the sun as it slowly dives into the gleaming distance. Does our town not fill you with the poetry of love?
No? Well there’s plenty of places to go for something to eat, and if you’re looking for flowers and gifts – you’re in the right place.
Check out Austen Flowers and McCrea’s Florists for a wide selection of tasteful and fanciful floral arrangements to make that special person in your life turn rose red. And don’t forget that you can also pick up flowers at some of Wicklow’s supermarkets.
The question of gifts is a controversial one. Are you really going to buy your loved one the same old flimsy gifts with Valentine’s Day branding, or are you going to go all out this year? Luckily, Wicklow has everything from high-quality jewellery, clothes, gifts of all sizes, and plenty of places to pick up a little bit of the bubbly – just check our Shop section for a full view of what’s there, and don’t forget to check those social media pages for special offers!
In the mood for Chinese? Indian? Italian? Maybe it’s seafood, or something more traditional? Wicklow Town is spoiled for choice when it comes to authentic traditional and international foods, so whatever you’re in the mood for on the night, make sure you pick somewhere with the right mood lighting.
Check out our Eat, Drink, and Stay section for a comprehensive directory of places restaurants in town to help you sweep them off their feet.
Armed with this knowledge, we send you on your way and wish you the very best of luck. Have a happy and safe Valentine’s Day – and whatever you do – DON’T FORGET THE CARD.
