Help Shape The future of the Public lands Surrounding Wicklow’s Iconic Black Castle (Stage 3)

Wicklow County Council and the Wicklow Town Team, in collaboration with the appointed consultants Studio Idir, are delighted to invite the public to Wicklow Library where updated design proposals regarding the enhancement of the public lands surrounding Black Castle will be presented.

This event follows two Public Consultations which have taken place in August and September where ideas and suggestions were put forward by local residents, groups and community representatives. Having reviewed and analysed all feedback previously shared, Studio Idir will now return with updated design proposals.

This initiative is funded by the Town and Village Renewal Scheme through the Department of Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht. It is part of a larger project to develop a comprehensive design plan aimed at enhancing the public lands around Black Castle. The project also includes an assessment of the condition and structure of the Black Castle ruins as part of the overall site strategy.
