A Vibrant Seaside Town (Video)

A great video has been produced (https://youtu.be/y4luvQ1Mxq0) which includes some of the projects Wicklow Town Team secured funding for and have completed such as the Wicklow Town Heritage Trail (LEADER), Market Square Awnings and Seating (Town & Village Renewal). WTT brought the Abbey Grounds project to Wicklow County Council and helped with the transfer between the Diocese, Parish & WCC and we believe this will be a fantastic amenity for the town.

Other Town Team Projects include: connectivity from the Quays to the Main Street (Town & Village Renewal). We are eagerly awaiting the completion of the lighting of our historical sites (Town & Village Renewal). The Greenway project has received an additional €300k for the Environmental Impact Assessment Report (EIAR). We successfully applied for funding for a Theatre Feasibility Study and Business Plan (LEADER) and this report has just been sent to Wicklow Municipal District Council. All of the above projects have been matched funded by Wicklow County Council.

Other projects in their earlier stages are a Bike Pump Track on the Murrough (LEADER). WTT is working with WCC, Clr. Mary Kavanagh and Cormac McGrane on a Pilgrim Walk from Wicklow to Glendalough. The Town Team have been lobbying for 18 months with the Department of Justice and the Court Services and our Dáil Representatives on the poor condition and plans for the Wicklow Courthouse.
